An established company is seeking a highly motivated and meticulous professional to join their team as a Project Engineer on a 24-month contract.
This role is pivotal, requiring the successful candidate to take accountability for the full lifecycle success of complex, high-value projects.
The Project Engineer will focus on the coordination, implementation, and overall management of project structures, schedules, and costs in challenging technological and client-facing environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Project Leadership & Control: Accountable for the preparation and maintenance of overall project schedules and cost plans.
• Coordination: Co-ordinating the efforts of other project staff to meet all project schedules and deliverables.
• Financial Management: Monitoring and controlling project costs related to capital and man-hours; setting up and maintaining project financial controls.
• Client Liaison: Liaising directly with clients on project issues and managing relationships.
• Reporting & Administration: Preparing monthly project status reports, scheduling meetings, and responsible for recording and issuing minutes of project and client meetings.
• Problem Solving: Management of ad hoc problems during project execution and implementation of suitable contingency plans.
• Mentorship: Assisting in the development and mentoring of discipline engineers.
• Flexible Support: Executing the functions of a Senior Discipline Engineer when required by the project structure.
• Business Support: Actively assisting Directors with company marketing initiatives.
Requirements:
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering / B.Tech / S4 qualification.
o Minimum of five years in a project environment.
o Preferably ten years post-graduate experience overall.
• Technical: Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Project and MS Office.
• Compliance: Knowledge and application of the OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act).
• Advantageous: A post-graduate qualification in Project Management.
